So apparently Facebook doesn't want me sharing my website links anymore 😂

Well… Facebook gave me a little surprise yesterday. 😅

I was doing what I normally do — posting my latest props and adding a link to my website.

I do this all the time. I’m a small prop maker, and Facebook and Instagram are a big part of how people find my work. My website is where my shop is, so getting people from Facebook to my website is kind of… important. 😂

Then suddenly Facebook told me I had reached my limit.

Two links.

Apparently that's all I get.

And yes, I had absolutely no idea this was coming. 😂

Wait… two links?!

This isn't completely new.

Facebook started testing restrictions on external links on some Pages and professional accounts back in December 2025. At the time it was a smaller test, so it wasn't something everyone was seeing.

Then, on 15 September 2026, Meta launched its new Meta One subscription service, which includes paid plans with additional features for creators and businesses.

And now, this month, the two-link restriction seems to be appearing much more widely.

Which is how I found out about it — not from some exciting Facebook announcement, but from Facebook basically saying:

“Nope. That's enough links for you.” 😂

And putting the link in the comments doesn't help either

I thought, okay… no problem.

I'll just put the website link in the first comment.

Nope.

Links in comments are restricted too.

So that little workaround doesn't really work anymore for accounts affected by the limit.

And for someone like me who posts links regularly, that's a bit of a problem.

I'm not trying to send people somewhere random.

I'm literally trying to send them to my shop. 😅

But I did discover a little workaround…

There is something that does seem to work.

Facebook is quite happy for me to keep people inside Facebook.

So instead of sharing an external link directly to my website, I can share a link to another Facebook post or to my Facebook page.

And that works!

Which is actually quite useful.

But there is one tiny problem…

It makes the journey to the product a LOT longer.

Instead of:

Facebook post → product → shop

it becomes something more like:

Facebook post → Facebook page → find another post → find the product → click again → website → shop

And every extra step is a chance for someone to think:

“Oh, never mind.” 😂

You know how it is.

Someone sees something they like, they're interested for approximately 14 seconds, and then something distracts them.

A dog walks past.

Their child asks for something.

They remember they left the washing machine on.

And suddenly your beautiful handmade prop has completely disappeared from their mind. 😂

And this is where Instagram suddenly looks very useful…

Funny enough, my Instagram is already working a little more like this.

I'm very active there too, and I regularly tag my products in my posts.

And, thank God, product tagging is still free! 😂🙌

So while Facebook is making me think twice about every external link, I can still post my new props on Instagram, tag the actual product and let people find their way to it from there.

I'm definitely going to make more use of that.

So if you're following me on Instagram, you'll probably see me there even more! ❤️

My Instagram.

So for now…

I'll be working with what I've got.

You might notice that some of my Facebook posts don't have a direct link to my website anymore.

The website link is always in my bio, so that's the easiest way to find my shop.

And if you want the link to a particular product, just send me a DM and I'll happily send it to you. ❤️

Or, if you prefer the old-school way, just ask me for the price and I can send you a PayPal invoice.

The old good way. 😄

Sometimes I think we are slowly going backwards anyway, so why not?

And I think this is going to change how I do things a little…

If Facebook wants to make getting people from my posts to my website more complicated, I'll just have to find other ways of keeping in touch with you.

So I'm going to be sending more emails with my new products, new things I'm making, and what's happening in my little prop-making world.

So if you're already on my email list…

Please don't unsubscribe! 😂❤️

And if you're not, maybe it's a good time to subscribe.

I think I'm going back to a few of the old-school ways of getting people to actually see my posts and new products — building my own audience, keeping in touch by email and, of course, getting more lovely people to discover my little shop.

Because social media is wonderful…

…but maybe it's not such a good idea to put all your eggs in Facebook's basket. 😅

So if you like seeing what I make…

Subscribe and get more of me! ❤️

I'll be sharing new props, new products, behind-the-scenes bits and pieces, and hopefully lots more things that make photographers go:

“Ooooh, I need that!” 😂

And of course…

Website link is always in my bio. ❤️

Need a particular link? DM me and I'll send it.

Want the price? Just ask and I can send you a PayPal invoice — the old-school way! 😄

Thank you for following, supporting and shopping with my little handmade business. It really does mean a lot. ❤️
