New Year, New Goals: Growing as a Handmade Maker
New Year, New Goals: Expanding My Handmade World
A new year always brings a sense of possibility—a moment to reflect on what I’ve been creating and where I’d like my work to grow next. As a handmade maker, my goals are shaped by materials, ideas, and the people who use what I create.
Over the past year, my work has continued to grow in exciting ways. Alongside knitting baby rompers and sweaters, I introduced wooden laser-cut discs in 2025, and they’ve quickly become a meaningful part of my creative journey.
Knitting Pieces Made With Care
Knitting remains at the heart of my handmade work. Baby rompers and sweaters are created to be soft, comfortable, and timeless—pieces made to be worn, loved, and often passed on. This year, my goal is to continue refining these items by focusing on fit, finishes, and thoughtful yarn choices, while still enjoying the slow, calming rhythm that knitting brings.

Wooden Discs for Photographers — and Beyond
My wooden laser-cut discs were originally designed with photographers in mind—simple, beautiful props that help capture meaningful moments. From milestone photos to styled shoots, these discs add warmth and a natural touch without taking attention away from the subject.
As this side of my work grows, so do my ideas.
This year, one of my biggest goals is to expand beyond photography props and create wooden decorations that can be enjoyed by everyone. After all, photographers are creatives too, with their own hobbies, homes, and personal styles—and so are the people who gift and use handmade items.

Personalisation at the Heart of What I Do
Personalisation is something I’m especially excited to develop further. Whether it’s:
-
Names or dates
-
Special words or short phrases
-
Designs inspired by hobbies, seasons, or occasions
I want each wooden piece to feel personal and meaningful. A small detail can turn a simple decoration into something truly special—whether it’s used in a photoshoot, displayed in a home, or given as a gift.
Building a Versatile, Thoughtful Collection
One of my goals for the year ahead is versatility. I want my handmade pieces—knitted and wooden—to work beautifully on their own, but also complement each other.
A knitted baby outfit paired with a personalised wooden disc.
A keepsake decoration that marks a milestone.
A simple wooden piece that reflects someone’s passion or story.
Each item is made with intention, designed to feel warm, natural, and lasting.
Looking Ahead
This new year isn’t about rushing or mass production. It’s about thoughtful growth, creativity, and staying connected to why I love making in the first place.
With new designs, more personalisation, and a growing range of decorations, I’m excited to see where this year leads.
New year, new goals—and many more handmade moments to create.
